What you should know while collecting wvo
All four of these containers were taken from different Asian restaurants.

collecting wvo the right way will save you time & effort. Furthest from the right is useless oil. It was taken from the bottom of a 55 Gallon drum from a restaurant called Wok Master. I pumped it out using my 12V diesel transfer pump the first time I took vegetable oil out of a waste restaurant drum. This was my first pumping experience, and unfortunately it turned out to be a real disappointment. If you pump oil and it looks like this DONT USE IT NO MATTER WHAT. It is also important to stop pumping if your pump is making allot of noise while sucking it up . If you happen to come across this type of oil you can always use it as weed killer. Before you buy your next Diesel Mercedes Benz, Get a FREE VIN Check from AutoCheck®. The oil second from the right was taken from a restaurant called Buddha's Belly. I pumped it out of the waste oil drum with my pump. Their barrel was half full so I predicted I would get some good oil. From my first experience I knew that all the crud was at the bottom, so I proceeded to pump from the middle. When I was finished I brought it home. At first it looked like the one at the far right, then after a couple days it started to separate. Buddha's Belly is another place I will not be revisiting. It is not worth it to spend the time pumping all that oil and only be able to use a little. The oil second from the left is good oil. It came from a vegan asian restaurant. It was taken directly from the fryer and put back into the cubbies it came in. I discovered that the oil is best when the restaurants take it directly from the fryer and give it to me . Furthest to the left is a little better oil than the second from the left oil because of the lighter color. It was given to me from a Chinese restaurant taken directly from the fryer. The lesson I learned from all of my oil pumping experiences is to collect oil from the restaurants that are able to give me oil directly from the fryer (put into cubbies). It is cleaner, better quality, and requires less work. Just drive up and knock on the back door of a restaurant. Don't forget to be polite and grateful. Make sure you settle your oil before you filter it. Some people will just run the oil through a 5 micron filter and put in their car. The result is a clogged fuel filter within a few hundred miles. Make sure you let the oil settle for a few weeks before you run it through the 5 micron filter. It will separate quicker if you heat it first. Heat it to 200 F and let it cool slowly in and insulated container. Watch for how much settles out of the oil then run it through the 5 micron filter.
If your filtering, and using waste vegetable oil as fuel, this 12V fuel transfer pump makes transferring WVO very convenientTuthill Diesel Fuel Transfer Pump with Suction Pipe-12 Volt, 10 GPM, Model# FR1616

Myself, and many others agree that this 12V fuel transfer pump is the industry standard for transferring waste vegetable oil. I use this pump to collect waste vegetable from the restaurants. I simply connect the pump to a car battery, and transfer the waste vegetable oil from the restaurant drums into my cubie containers. After I settled my oil in the sun, I would pour the good oil through the 5 micron filter attached to the top of my 50 gallon drum. I then use this pump to transfer the good, filtered waste vegetable oil from the bottom of my 50 gallon drum, to my diesel Mercedes Benz. This pump is a must have if your filtering, and using waste vegetable oil as fuel. You pump your filtered WVO into your car like if you were at a gas station! The only place that I know of where you can get this pump is at: Because WVO is thick, you need to change the fuse that comes with the pump to a fuse that can withstand a higher number of amps. Simply change the fuse, and pump away!
